Ariel Amaya is a highly accomplished educator with a Master of Arts in Teaching from Relay Graduate School of Education in New York, NY, and a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Law from Lafayette College in Easton, PA. Over the last decade, Ariel has worked in numerous leadership roles, including serving as the Director of Elementary Literacy and Math Achievement at KIPP Miami Public Schools from July 2022 to June 2023 and School Director/Principal at Classical Charter Schools in Bronx, NY from August 2020 to March 2022. Ariel's strategic initiatives have consistently resulted in exceptional student achievement and promotion rates that far exceed district public schools. When Ariel isn't working, he enjoys playing video games and traveling with his fiancé.
Rebecca has 10 years of experience in education serving as a classroom teacher, interventionist, and curriculum specialist in both New York and Miami. She enjoys exercising, going to concerts, and Bravo TV.
Ana Marie Hernandez is highly experienced with 15 years as a certified K–6 educator in the Miami Dade County Public Schools system. Specializing in Gifted Education, ESL instruction, and STEAM programs, she has been recognized as a "Highly Effective Teacher" and the 2020 Teacher of the Year at Southside Preparatory Academy. In addition to her school achievements, Ana has operated a successful freelance education consulting firm for years, providing professional development trainings to teachers nationwide. Holding degrees from New York University and the University of Miami, her educational focus on English and theater contributes to her effectiveness in teaching diverse subjects. In April of 2024, her book “50 Strategies for Summer Engagement” will be published by Shell Education and Teacher Created Materials.

How are microschools different?
Our Microschools focus on small-group, student-centered learning, ensuring that every Primer kid gets the support they need and learns to work collaboratively. Each campus has a unique community where families can feel connected to their child's educational journey.
What is the tuition at Primer?
Primer is committed to making an exceptional education accessible to every family. Our out of pocket tuition operates on a flexible sliding scale, up to $24,000, tailored to meet the unique financial situations of every family.
Are there scholarships available?
We provide generous financial support and resources so that an education at Primer is within reach. We'll help you secure state scholarships and have additional scholarships available through The Primer Foundation for families who qualify.

The three commitments we make to every family are that we take kids seriously, we make math and literacy are the cornerstones of learning, and we give students the resources, structure, and space to pursue their interests.
